The getaway cottage is a response to tradition with a convenient emplacement into the terrain. The positioning of the building was executed without disrupting the existing terrain (terraced modifications are an acknowledgement of the original use of the surrounding land). The design puts the emphasis on preserving the essence of family heritage. The slope of the land, its physical properties and tradition are fundamental determinants of the concept. Cottage generously opens to its environment and connects the interior with the surrounding landscape scenery. It works with human scale and subsequently divides the day and night zone atypically. The construction studies traditional carpentry and applies it to a modern expression with respect for ancestors.
